Courage to Care Day Campaign 2024
We’re excited to announce our Courage to Care Campaign for 2024! This year, we have two amazing initiatives taking place across the Western Cape and Eastern Cape.
Western Cape Campaign (2 September – 7 October 2024)
We’re collecting bottle tops, bread tags, and bread bags to recycle. In exchange, the Sweethearts Foundation will donate a standard wheelchair to support someone in need. Your contributions can bring mobility to someone’s life—let’s make this happen together!
Eastern Cape Campaign
At our Eastern Cape sites, we will be collecting toiletries to donate to the Burgersdorp Communities. Your generosity will provide essential care to those who need it most.
About Courage to Care Day
Courage to Care embodies one of MOT’s core values: the Courage to Care. This value emphasizes the importance of showing care and respect to others and ourselves, providing “jet fuel” to be a light for someone, and including those who feel left out. It’s a day dedicated to celebrating the impact of caring for others and recognizing how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life.
Why Your Participation Matters
By participating in this competition, you’re not only engaging in a fun and educational activity but also contributing to a noble cause. The items collected will be recycled by the Sweethearts Foundation, which uses them to provide wheelchairs to those in need. Your efforts will help ensure that more people can benefit from this valuable support. And that’s not all. Each school/college/organisation will also have the opportunity to nominate who will receive this wheelchair.
About Sweethearts Foundation
Sweethearts is an organization that gives the gift of mobility to the poor and marginalized in our society by collecting tops and tags, which they sell to recyclers. Through this effort, they provide wheelchairs to those in need. Read more about them here.
